Oud Essentiel Guerlain – Description

Released in 2017 as part of Guerlain’s Absolus d’Orient collection (later reintroduced in Absolus Allegoria), Oud Essentiel is a refined woody-oriental fragrance that pays tribute to the richness of oud wood. It opens with saffron and geranium, followed by a heart of agarwood (oud), Bulgarian rose, and Atlas cedar. The base unfolds with leather, frankincense, and guaiac wood, creating a deep, resinous, and sensual trail. Crafted by perfumer Thierry Wasser, it balances the intensity of oud with floral elegance and smoky leather accords, offering a sophisticated unisex scent with above-average longevity and projection.
